When will I benefit from Dermalogica vs Elite facial?

All facials are 60 min and include: cleansing, exfoliation, extraction if needed, customized mask, and facial massage. Elite facials in addition often include a peel or microdermabrasion and are treatment oriented.

Dermalogica is recommended for normal skin type and Elite facials are best for skin requiring acne or rosacea treatment, as well as sensitive and dry skin requiring intensive help to prevent premature aging by boosting the natural production of collagen. In addition skin with scarring, discoloration and texture problems will benefit from our Elite facials. In Elite facials most often we use DG Skincare or Eminence Organics skin care products, however at times we may customize the facials with other products to assure best results, like a diamond tip microdermabrasion treatment.

Our facials are always customized to your skin type, concerns and needs and your skin care therapist will provide you with the best care for you. Call or Email us today for an appointment.

Benefits of a Monthly Facial Program

What are the benefits of a monthly professional facial?

A monthly facial will give you an opportunity to work with a skin care specialist regularly. Your skin will be analyzed monthly by a licensed Aesthetician. Your skin needs may change rapidly and with regular facials and your concerns will be addressed immediately.

Some of the factors that can change your skin are: stress level, diet, lifestyle, seasonal changes in the weather and hormonal changes like menopause.

Therefore, a regular professional facial with appropriate home skin care will help to keep your skin looking healthy, clear and fresh regardless of age.  More benefits of a monthly facial include: exfoliation and better absorption of skin care products, improved texture and complexion. Increased circulation and stimulation to the skin will help with collagen production and help with premature aging.  Preventive acne treatments will help with breakouts and blemishes. Healthy and radiant skin will boost your confidence and taking an hour a month will give you the time to unwind and relax.

Regular facials are made affordable with our monthly program. They are an excellent tool in preventive skin care with great dividends in years to come. You can compare the benefits of regular skin care to the of regular exercise, healthy lifestyle and diet.

Winter Skin Care Tips – Eyes

January 6, 2012 by

Our eyes are one the most sensitive areas on our bodies. Protecting your eye area is a very important part of your daily skin care routine.

Winter Skin Care Tips – Eyes

Facelogic Skin Care Spa Eye TreatmentDuring the winter, when the days are shorter we spend more time inside, often under florescent lighting. The cold air has low humidity and the heating systems in our homes dry out our eyes.  All these factors contribute to our eyes tending to look tired, red and puffy.

We recommend doing an eye mask with green tea or cucumber. A collagen eye mask will not only sooth your eyes but will also help with preventing signs of premature aging. Use an eye cream daily and treat your eyes with care.

Visit Facelogic Skin Care Spa Redmond for the following products to care for the eye area. Eminence Organics Cucumber Eye Gel, DG Skincare Hydra Pure Eye Cream.

Healthy eating habits are extremely important but what does this really mean? We think it’s a lifestyle where you make a time-tested commitment to balance, variety and moderation.

Simply said: it is an everyday commitment to eating a variety of foods from different food groups without getting too many calories or too much of one nutrient.

So, where do you start?
We all know that old habits are hard to break, so start slow. Be realistic with your expectations and make one change a week, rather than trying to change everything at once. Try adopting one nutrition tip a week and incorporate it into your busy lifestyle. Within 2-3 months you will develop healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime…..more energy, better health and beautiful skin are just some of the benefits.

Dine Out Less

Huge portions high in fat and calories makes it hard to eat well when dining out. When you do eat out, avoid fried foods, heavy sauces and dressings, and skip fillers like bread baskets. Most restaurants have now a “healthy choice” on the menu. Ordering a mini portion or sharing your plate is also a good option. Facelogic skin care spa healthy habits tips series dine out less

Don’t Skip Meals

Waiting more than four or five hours between meals causes your blood sugar to bottom out, leaving you weak, irritable and tired. Try to eat three balanced meals and two snacks per day. Include a protein source in every meal and snack.

Avoid reaching for refined sugars when you starving, so no candy bars. Sorry. What you do is telling your body to create a burst of insulin to metabolize the sugar. Unstable and high insulin levels can cause problems like diabetes type 2. By cutting refined sugar you in your diet your body slows the production of insulin to healthier levels. Try a baked apple instead.

Good snack idea: a handful or blueberries mixed with almonds or walnuts. This is a great source of antioxidants, fiber, omega-3 and protein with low sugar content.

Portion Control

Over the years, our perception of a normal portion has grown considerably and as a result so has our waistline. Your meal portions should leave you satisfied, but not feeling stuffed. Your body takes 20 minutes to tell your brain that it is full, so eat slowly. Share a meal with your family or friends if possible. Enjoy a good conversation and quality time. Turn off your TV and take a walk after your meal.
