3 Foods for Beautiful Skin

Want radiant, healthy, even younger-looking skin?

Turns out the saying “You are what you eat” doesn’t just apply to the bathroom scale. Our skin reveals what we put in our mouths, too. And you guessed it: The healthier our choices, the more our skin rewards us with a beautiful, glowing appearance.

Nourish your skin from the inside out with 3 good-for-you foods. 

What to eat: Salmon
Benefit: Soft, supple skin 

The omega-3 fatty acids in salmon and other oily fish works to keep your cells healthy and add moisture to your skin. It also fights inflammation–research shows too little omega-3 can contribute to eczema and psoriasis.

Other options: If fish isn’t a favorite, try  walnuts, soybeans and flaxseed. 

What to eat: Strawberries
Benefit: Smooth, taut skin

These sweet little gems are loaded with Vitamin C, which helps your body produce collagen for healthy cell renewal. They’re also rich in antioxidants to combat sun damage and slow down the aging process.

Other options: Not into strawberries? Try kiwi, cantaloupe, orange and grapefruit.

What to eat: Carrots 
Benefit: Brighter skin tone

Carrots, like other orange-red veggies, are packed with beta-carotene. Beta-carotene turns into Vitamin A in our bodies, which becomes an antioxidant to prevent cell damage and premature aging. 

Other options: Think bright! Vivid orange and green fruits and veggies are loaded with beta-carotene. Sweet potatoes, mangos and spinach are all winners.

3 Ways to Drink More Water

Your massage therapist often reminds you to drink lots of water after your massage. What great advice–after an appointment, but also for every day.

Here are 3 tips to staying hydrated.

Take water with you
Drinking WaterYou’re already in the habit of taking water with you to the gym. Now, step it up and take a bottle with you every time you head out the door. This is one of the easiest, most effective ways to drink more water.

Add a splash of fruit juice to rev up the taste without adding a lot of calories or sugar. For a serious zap of flavor, try Crystal Light or Propel. Both come in single-serving packets; just dump in the powder and shake. A dash of lemon or lime juice is refreshing, too.

Try some tea
We may be the coffee capital but tea, especially herbal tea, offers great taste with the power to hydrate. Try some of Tazo’s blends like Wild Sweet Orange and Passion Iced Tea.
