Brazillian Waxing and Sugaring – Before and After Instructions

What is a Brazilian? It is the removal of all pubic hair with waxing or sugaring.
(at this time, our therapists are trained to perform this service on female clients only)

What can I expect? Will I have some irritation and redness? Irritation and redness are common responses, due to the histamine reaction caused by the removal of the hair by the root. You will experience some discomfort. We suggest maintenance of every 3-4 weeks which reduces the thickness of hair re-growth.  If you keep up a regular schedule of hair removal every 3-4 weeks your discomfort level will decrease. We recommend the use of “No Scream Cream from Relax and Wax” to be applied 30-45 minutes prior to your appointment, available for purchase at our spa.

Before and After Care instruction for waxing and sugaring:

  • no tanning 24 hrs before and after service
  • refrain from working out 24 hrs after service to prevent skin irritation and ingrown hairs
  • good exfoliation and hair trimming is recommended, 1/16 – 1/8 inch is the best hair length
  • absolutely no sugaring or waxing if you are taking Accutane, Retin-A or other topical medication, please consult your physician first
  • if you are under 18, we will need written parent consent
  • to prevent ingrown hairs, continue daily exfoliation, we recommend using “Get the Bump Out of Here” from our Wax and Relax line of products available for purchase at our spa

Sugaring Or Waxing?

At Facelogic we believe that sugaring is usually a better choice to waxing, especially for delicate areas: Brazilian, bikini, underarm and face. The hair is removed in the direction of growth, rather than against it, like waxing. The benefits are less painful and gentler on the skin.

Also, keep in mind that when sugaring the hair follicles are not broken at the surface resulting in less ingrown hair problems. The more you sugar, the more fine & sparse the regrowth is, allowing for more time in between treatments. Exfoliating the area thoroughly before and after treatment is recommended and should also help with ingrown hairs.

Waxing is preferred for legs and eye brows. However, our staff will always accommodate your preferred method of treatment.

Should You Get a Professional Waxing?

As our sunny weather heats up, you’re no doubt slipping on shorts more often. Which, of course, means you’re shaving more often — all to have prickly hairs poking up on your legs again the next day.

Enough already!

Come on in and we’ll give you satiny-smooth legs. We customize the type of wax we use, so it’s the most effective and least painful. Never had a wax before? Here are some common questions:

1. What are the advantages of waxing over shaving?
It’s faster than shaving every day and results in a much smoother look and feel.  Plus, the more often you wax, the thinner your hair will get.

2. Will it hurt?
Some women would say yes, others would say no. It depends on your pain tolerance and the thickness and type of hair you have. The good news is that if you wax consistently, it will hurt less over time.

3. How long does waxing last?
Your first leg waving will last up to 4 weeks. Over time, though, you can go up to 8 weeks between waxing.

 4. Do you offer bikini line waxing?
Absolutely. Clients come in for all kinds of waxing – facial, legs, bikini and more. The only waxing we don’t do is the Brazillian.
